With a promise to develop state-of-art infrastructure at tourist spots, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 13 crore in the popular tourist destination of Patratu in Ramgarh district.
Projects worth around Rs 7 crore were inaugurated, which included a guest house at Patratu lake resort complex.
"Nature has given many beautiful gifts to Jharkhand. This state is known for its mineral wealth. Apart from this, the natural beauty, captivating and charming valleys and religious places have also been the centre of attraction here," Soren said at the event.
"... Keeping this in mind, a special action plan is being prepared by the government for the development of all tourist places and it is being implemented in a phased manner," he added.
The CM said the projects will lead to the development of the area and provide employment to locals.
He directed the officials to ensure that the catchment area of Patratu Dam is not encroached upon.
State Tourism Minister Hafizul Hasan said a ropeway will be constructed for the tourists.
