Kerala Rains: Yellow Alert In 6 Districts As Heavy Downpour Lashes Several Parts Of State

For today, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow alert for the districts of Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram.

As incessant torrential downpour battered several parts of Kerala on Thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert in six out of the 14 districts of the state. As per PTI, the yellow alerts are issued for Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram.

For Friday, the yellow alerts are also issued in seven districts includingThiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki.

The IMD also predicted thunderstorm with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds at one or two places in the Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts of Kerala during the day.
