After Mamata Banerjee's TMC in Bengal, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also following the path of contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election on its own strength in all 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab, sources said.
AAP supremo and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal reportedly has approved a proposal of the Punjab unit of AAP to fight the general election alone, according to the leaders privy to the matter.
Owing to Congress' stubborn attitude regarding seat-sharing, AAP is likely to refuse to contest the election with the grand old party in Punjab.
However, an official announcement on this matter is still awaited from AAP.
Earlier today, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she will fight the Lok Sabha elections alone after failed seat-sharing talks with the Grand Old Party, an INDIA alliance partner.
