Anticipating heavy rush at Maa Vindhyavasini Dham on the New Year, the district authorities have made elaborate arrangements till January 2, 2023, to ensure a smooth entry and exit of the devotees.

District Magistrate Divya Mittal has deployed the Zonal and Sector Magistrate for proper management of the crowd in and around Vindhyachal from December 31 to January 2, 2023, an order said on Saturday. Similar arrangements were made earlier too, but only during the 'Navratri' when devotees throng the temple in large numbers. This is the first time that Vindhyachal has been divided into nine sectors for the convenience of the visitors at the DM’s order.

Mittal has also asked the Superintendent of Police to deploy an adequate police force at the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple, Ashtabhuja Temple, Kali Khoh Temple, and all ghats. The Chief Medical Officer has been directed to deploy a team of qualified doctors, adequate life-saving drugs, equipment, and ambulances. He has also been asked to procure ambulances for all the primary and community health centres of the district during the three-day period. Vindhya Panda Samaj President Pankaj Mishra conjectured the footfall to be 3-4 lakh on New year.
