A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and brutally assaulted on Thursday in Satna district in Madhya Pradesh.
Two men, identified as Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya, have been arrested in the case. They worked at a well-known temple trust at the time of the incident.
The police said the accused were produced in a court on Friday and were sent to 14-day judicial custody. Both of them have been sacked by the temple trust.
Comparing the incident to the Delhi gang rape and murder case (2012), Congress leader Kamal Nath said that the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Government of Madhya Pradesh had failed to ensure safety of females. He demanded best medical treatment and financial assistance of Rs 1 crore for the victim.
The girl was bitten multiple times, brutally assaulted
The 12-year-old girl was raped, bitten multiple times, and was brutally assaulted. Two men, both aged 30, have been arrested in the case.
The PTI reported that it has been said a report was also inserted in her private parts, citing police sources, but a senior police officer said that the detail can only be confirmed after a medical report is received. The girl was admitted to a hospital at the divisional headquarters Rewa for advanced medical care, as per police. She was profusely bleeding at the time of admission.
Satna Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Gupta told PTI, "I am not denying that a stick or some other object was inserted into the 12-year-old's private parts by accused Ravindra Kumar Ravi and Atul Bhadoliya. But this is something that can only be confirmed only in a medical report. We are still awaiting her medical report. Yes she was bleeding and doctors are monitoring her health. Her body bore bites and injuries which pertain to sexual assault...We are taking legal action against the accused."
Asked about the condition of the girl, Gupta said a panel of doctors treating her said her condition was "okay” at his point in time, reported PTI.
