Stage is set for the much-awaited much-awaited 7th edition of Madhya Pradesh Government’s flagship investment summit “Invest Madhya Pradesh - Global Investors Summit” that will kickstart on Wednesday in commercial capital of the state, Indore. The two-day event is the bigger and grander version of the investment summit where Madhya Pradesh will project it as one of the best investment destinations in Central India and taking the State at the forefront in generating economic growth.  

During the two-day summit, 19 different sector-specific sessions will be organized with industry captains of different fields, industrialists, senior officials of the concerned ministries of Government Of India have been invited in these sessions, said an official here today.

The event offers opportunities for prospective collaborations. And the Invest Madhya Pradesh - GIS will be a platform where global leaders, industrialists and experts will come together to share their narratives on emerging markets/trends, harness investment potential and become a part of the success story of future ready, Madhya Pradesh, the official said.

In the run to the Invest Madhya Pradesh - Global Investors Summit, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself chaired the roadshows conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune & Bengaluru for inviting investors to the state. In addition to this, he also interacted with potential overseas investors of countries viz. UK and US virtually and extended his invitation for the summit, the official said.

This year, the summit has been designed by showcasing the industrial ecosystem of the state, promoting the state policies, consultation with industrial organizations to formulate industry-friendly policies, collaboration opportunities, promoting export potential and organising buyer- seller meets and vendor development.

It is worth mentioning that as on 31st December, 2022 more than 5000 industrialists and industry representatives have registered for the summit in the GIS portal: investmp.in. The State has received more than 450 requests from leading industries for one-to-one meetings with Chief Minister, state ministers and officials. The State Government has received confirmation of more than 500 prominent industrialists from India to attend the summit including Kumar Mangalam Birla, Noel Tata, Nadir Godrej, Puneet Dalmia & Ajay Piramal, informed the official.

This year the summit will have participation from leading industrialists of various sectors such as Pharma, IT, automobiles, textiles, garments, chemicals, cement, food processing, logistics, petrochemicals, tourism, renewable energy, services etc.

Some of the key highlights of the two-day event including inaugural session will be: B2B & B2G meetings, Thematic & Sectoral sessions,One-to-One Meetings with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Industry Minister and Officials, exhibition, cultural programmes.

The Business to Business meetings will provide a platform to industries for collaboration, business-related partnerships, product exchange, different services and related information. Similarly, through G2B meetings, private sector industries will be able to discuss various opportunities and collaborations with the government. Notably under the Buyer-Seller Meet and Vendor Development Program to help the MSMEs of the state to reach the global market and to promote exports from the state. This mainly includes buyers from USA, Canada, England, Japan, Israel, Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh and African countries.

According to the official, more than 1500 exporters of the State from different sectors such as pharmaceutical, textile, engineering, agri and IT services have expressed their interest to participate in the summit.

The summit will be attended by foreign delegation of more than 65 countries that includes; Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Consulate Generals, Diplomats of more than 20 countries will participate in the event. Notably, the International Pavilion at the Invest Madhya Pradesh – GIS will have presence of 9 partner countries and 14 international Trade Organizations showcasing various aspects of their countries. 

Through this summit, State’s exporters will get opportunity to connect with prospective foreign buyers, the official said.

The summit will have a dedicated Madhya Pradesh Pavilion which will showcase the industrial infrastructure, existing and upcoming industrial parks, marquee investment projects which are planned and are under implementation in the State and will also cover State’s various aspects such as heritage, culture, wildlife, natural resources etc. Leading companies will display their products related to various sectors such as Pharma, IT, Automobiles, Textiles, Garments, Chemicals, Cement, Food processing etc, the official said.

A digital exhibition based on the theme "Role of Overseas Indians in Freedom Struggle" is being organized, while more than stalls of 100 industries to showcase various industrial sectors is being organised at the summit.

In addition, to showcase Cultural richness of the State a "cultural zone" will also be created in which local arts such as Gond paintings, Bhil paintings, Zari-zardozi, Jute, Bagh print, Batik print, dolls, bamboo art, bell metal craft and handlooms such as Chanderi & Maheshwari etc. will be displayed by the artisans. While the theme of the summit is MADHYA PRADESH - THE FUTURE READY STATE, the event will  be Carbon Neutral & Zero Waste.

The cleanest State and Indore being the cleanest city in India is also hosting important events such as Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and G20’s working group meetings in 2023.
