Madhya Pradesh Will Be Uniquely Placed In Technology Map: Chouhan

Highlighting some of the main objectives of the Madhya Pradesh Science Technology and Innovation Policy policy, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the policy aims to infuse new technologies in government functioning and for the welfare of society.

By implementing the Madhya Pradesh Science Technology and Innovation Policy in the state, Madhya Pradesh will be uniquely placed in the Indian knowledge and technology map said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

This policy will be implemented promptly in the state, stated Chouhan while releasing the Madhya Pradesh Science Technology and Innovation Policy at the Academy of Administration in Bhopal.

Highlighting some of the main objectives of this policy, Chouhan said the policy aims to infuse new technologies in government functioning and for the welfare of society.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will contribute 550 billion in India's 5 trillion economy.

Principal Secretary Science and Technology Nikunj Rivastav said that good governance can be established in the state only through technology and innovation by adding that the policy carries vision of Chief Minister.

On this occasion, two MoUs were signed by the Madhya Pradesh Government with IIT Indore and IIT Gandhi Nagar.

Scientific Advisor to the Government of India Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood said that this policy will strengthen the science ecosystem of Madhya Pradesh. Science and Technology Minister Omprakash Saklecha, Vice Chairman of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Policy Analysis Institute, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Padma Vibhushan Vijay Kumar Saraswat were present on the occasion.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur felicitated sports talents of the year 2020 at the Madhya Pradesh Shikhar Khel Alankaran ceremony held at Rabindra Bhawan. The logo of Khelo India Youth Games-2022 to be held in Madhya Pradesh was also unveiled.

Players who win medals in the Khelo India Games will be given five lakh rupees every year for training, announced Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said that a modern stadium with international standards is being constructed at Barkheda Nathu in Bhopal.

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said that the state has made a lot of progress in the field of sports in the last two decades. The shooting range here is very beautiful, the horse race center prepared in 30 acres is excellent, he said. One thousand Khelo India centers are being opened in the country, he added.

Chief Minister and Union Minister Thakur felicitated the talented players of the state with Khel Alankaran Awards for the year 2020 and released a souvenir containing the achievements of the awardees.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Farmers' Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Member of Parliament Shri V.D. Sharma, Olympic Association President Ramesh Mendola, General Secretary Madhya Pradesh Boxing Olympic Association Digvijay Singh and a large number of players were present on the ocassion.

Eklavya Award for the year 2020 was given to Ms. Sushma Verma in Kayaking-Canoeing. Ms. Tushita Singh for Soft Tennis. Shri Sparsh Khare Wushu. Arjun Singh for the year 2020 for Equestrian, Eklavya Puraskar for 2020 in athletics was presented to Sunil Dabur's father in his absence. Gauranshi Sharma (Divyang) was given the Eklavya Award for the year 2020 in Badminton, Ram Milan Yadav in Sailing, Ankit Sharma in Fencing, Ms. Anuradha Ahirwar in Archery, Ms. Piti Rajak in Shooting, Shashank Patel in Taekwondo, Sadhna Sengar in Hockey, Dhruv Raj Kurre was awarded Eklavya Award in Power Lifting.

Vikram Award

Vishwajit Singh Kushwaha was given Vikram Award for Canoe Slalom, Ms. Sunidhi Chauhan for Shooting , Ms. Nidhi Nanher for Karate, Ms. Paridhi Joshi for Horse Riding, Ms. Manju Bamveria for Boxing, Ms. Ekta Yadav for Sailing, Vivek Sagar Prasad for Hockey, Harshvardhan Tomar for Basketball to Ms. Pooja Malviya was awarded in Malkhamb, Ms. Prachi Yadav (Divyang) in Canoe-Kayaking.

Abhay Chhajlani was given the Life Time Achievement Award for the upliftment of sports in Madhya Pradesh.
