Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Thursday ended his nine-day-old hunger strike after meeting a delegation sent by the Maharashtra government.

Jarange-Patil had gone on an indefinite fast for the second time this year on October 25 as part of the agitation for reservation for the Maratha community.

After meeting a delegation sent by the Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government, Jarange-Patil broke the fast and gave the government two months to resolve the issue. He also warned that he would restart the agitation in case the issue is not resolved.

The delegation that met Jarange-Patil comprised four ministers of the government along with retired high court judges Sandeep Shinde amd MG Gaikwad and some officials, reported PTI.
