Around 13,000 people have been rescued by the security forces deployed in the state so far. Scores of casualties have been reported but the police are not willing to confirm the toll, according to PTI. Several thousands of Indian Army, CRPF, BSF, and RAF personnel have been deployed to control the situation. Clashes with militants have also been reported amid ethnic violence.
