In a distressing incident that unfolded in Haryana's Panipat district, three women were subjected to a horrifying ordeal as a group of four masked assailants, armed with knives and firearms, forcibly entered their home around 1 am on Thursday. Shockingly, the attackers carried out their heinous acts in the presence of the victims' family members, which included children.
The victims, aged 24, 25, and 35, were sexually assaulted by the perpetrators, who also made off with cash and precious silver ornaments. As they fled the scene, the criminals didn't stop at this brutality. They went on to rob a man of Rs 5,000 and brutally assaulted his wife, leading to her tragic demise, The Indian Express reported.
Investigations have unveiled a chilling link between the recent threats made to the affected families and the identities of the accused. A month prior to this horrific incident, the families had been warned to vacate their homes, suggesting a premeditated and sinister motive behind the attack.
Recounting the nightmarish ordeal, one of the victims revealed that the assailants, under the cover of darkness, had forcibly separated them from their husbands and children, restraining them with ropes. The victims were then subjected to a harrowing sequence of sexual assault and intimidation that lasted until 4 am.
The traumatized women eventually mustered the courage to report the incident to the authorities. Police promptly registered a case, ensured medical examinations for the victims, and initiated a comprehensive criminal investigation into this deeply disturbing case.
Following the escape of the criminals, one of the brave survivors reached out to the village head, who, in turn, promptly alerted the police. A dedicated team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar, arrived at the scene to conduct investigations. Additionally, a forensic team meticulously examined the area, collecting vital evidence to aid in the pursuit of justice.
