ETV Network Head Ramoji Rao Dies At 87

Media baron Ramoji Rao who was the Head Of ETV Network has died at the age of 87.

Ramoji Rao, who was the head of ETV Network and Ramoji Film City, died at the age of 87 while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Rao reportedly breathed his last at 3.45 am.

After Rao's demise, Telangana BJP chief and party MP G Kishan Reddy said he was saddened by his passing away.

Taking to micro-blogging site—X, Reddy said, "His remarkable contributions to Telugu media and journalism is commendable. My deepest condolences to his family members. Om Shanti.”

Rao was born on November 16, 1936. He was a businessman, media entrepreneur, and film producer. He was the head of the Ramoji Group which included the world's largest film production facility, Ramoji Film City, Eenadu newspaper, ETV Network of TV channels, and film production company Usha Kiran Movies.

Rao's other business ventures include Margadarsi Chit Fund, Dolphin Group of hotels, Kalanjali shopping mall, Priya pickles, and Mayuri Film Distributors
