Meghalaya: 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southeast Of Cherrapunjee, No Damages Reported

An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude hit Cherrapunjee in Meghalaya on Monday and the tremors were felt in the entire northeast region along with parts of the neighbouring country Bangladesh.

Meghalaya was hit by an earthquake of 5.4 magnitude on Monday evening at 8:19 pm. The National Center for Seismology said that the epicentre was 49 km southeast of Cherrapunjee.

The earthquake jolted the entire northeast region along with parts of Bangladesh and reportedly the depth of the quake was 16 km.

 No reports of property damage have been made and no casualties are reported to date.
