The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday revealed the names of the candidates for 21 assembly seats in Mizoram, where elections are scheduled for November 7.
The first list for the Mizoram assembly polls included candidates such as R Lalbiaktluangi for Lunglei West, Shanti Bikash Chakma for Thorang, Malsawmtluanga for Hachhek, and Vanlalhmuaka for the Dampa seat, totalling 12 names.
In a subsequent second list, the BJP nominated nine candidates, including Judy Zohmingliani for the Tuivawl assembly seat, F Lalremsangi for the Aizwal South-I seat, and K Vanlalruati for the Serchhip seat, among others. Mizoram's assembly comprises 40 seats.
The candidates' names were approved by the BJP's central election committee, which includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and party chief J P Nadda.
Additionally, the party announced Bhavna Bohra as its candidate for the Pandariya assembly seat in Chhattisgarh, which will have polling in two phases on November 7 and November 17.
This announcement brings the total number of BJP candidates for the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly to 86.
