Alongside capital city Delhi's ever-worsening air quality, India's financial capital Mumbai has also been battling with an unprecedented level of air pollution. Back on Sunday, as per media reports, Mumbai featured in the list of the world's most polluted cities.
Moreover, as a consequence of the exacerbating AQI, the city was compelled to set up a dedicated Intensive Respiratory Care Unit in a bid to attend to patients with respiratory issues.
What is taking us by surprise is the fact that Mumbai is facing this adversity despite it's geographically convenient location along the coastline and being surrounded by water on three sides. which leads to strong winds blowing away most of the pollutants in the air.
