In a disturbing incident near Dhodhi Canal Bridge in the Fakuli OP area of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a video has surfaced showing three policemen involved in a rather unsettling act. In the footage that has quickly spread across social media, these officers can be seen dragging what appears to be the lifeless body of a man, covered in blood, before unceremoniously dumping it into the canal. The video has sparked outrage and condemnation for the apparent lack of respect shown toward the deceased individual, according to media reports.
According to Fakuli OP in-charge Mohan Kumar, the tragic incident began with an elderly man being tragically struck by a truck in a road accident. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the collision, some of the victim's body parts and clothing were left stuck to the road, making it impossible to retrieve them for a proper postmortem examination. Consequently, the decision was made to send whatever remained in a recoverable condition for postmortem, while the rest of the victim's remains were callously disposed of in the canal.
Responding to the viral video, Muzaffarpur Police issued a press statement, explaining that the man had indeed met with a road accident on a Sunday morning. According to the police statement, they were alerted to the scene and subsequently sent the victim's body to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for an official postmortem examination. Furthermore, the police emphasized that they are actively investigating the authenticity of the viral video and have vowed to take stringent action against those responsible if any wrongdoing is established.
Following the public outcry generated by the video, the authorities have taken action to retrieve the discarded body parts from the canal for the purpose of conducting a postmortem examination, showing a commitment to ensuring a proper investigation into this unfortunate incident.
