NCP Protests Against Demonetisation, Offers Condolences

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held a protest on the sixth anniversary of the demonetisation. In the protests, the NCP also offered condolences ('shraddhanjali') to the demonetisation. In the demonetisation exercise, the Narendra Modi government in 2016 announced that Rs 500 and 100 notes were no longer legal and replaced them with new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes. This led to widespread shortage of cash and economic difficulties for many.
