The new Parliament building will likely be inaugurated later this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NDTV report said.
The report quoting sources said the new building, which is in its final stages, will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on May 28 as his government completes nine years this month.
He had taken oath as the Prime Minister on May 26, 2014, it mentioned.
“Part of the Central Vista redevelopment, the new Parliament building is being built by Tata Projects Limited, featuring larger halls, a library and committee rooms,” it said.
“The new building will also have a grand Constitution Hall to showcase India's democratic heritage, a lounge for members of Parliament, a library, multiple committee rooms, dining areas and ample parking space,” it said.
The foundation stone of the new Parliament building was laid by PM Modi in December 2020, it mentioned.
