The Haryana government ordered a partial lifting of the suspension on internet services in Nuh, Faridabad, and Palwal districts and territorial jurisdiction of Sub division Sohna, Pataudi, and Manesar of district Gurugram from 1 pm to 4 pm on Thursday.

According to the order by the Department of Home Affairs, the ban is being lifted in order to facilitate prospective candidates of the CET/Screening Test to download admit cards and necessitate other related tasks.

Earlier, in an order on July 31, the government suspended internet, SMS, and dongle services till August 2 and later, extended it to August 5 in view of the escalating communal violence in Nuh.

Similarly, on Wednesday, curfew and restrictions were lifted from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to allow people to buy essential items such as food and medicines in Nuh where the clashes broke out during a procession.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Centre and the state governments concerned to ensure no hate speech or violence takes place in Delhi-NCR during marches being held by VHP and Bajrang Dal to protest the communal clashes in Haryana's Nuh.

A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and S V Bhatti also ordered that additional police or paramilitary forces be deployed and CCTV cameras be installed in sensitive areas.
