Odisha: Infant Stuck In Abandoned Borewell Rescued In Sambalpur

The newborn was found stuck in an open borewell at Laripali in the Rengali area of Sambalpur in Odisha. It has been reported that a rescue operation was launched promotly in a bid to rescue the newborn safely as soon as the incident came to light.

An infant who got stuck in an abandoned borewell in Odisha's Sambalpur was rescued on Tuesday.As per media reports, the infant was found stuck in an open borewell at Laripali in the Rengali area of Sambalpur.

About the rescue operation

It has been reported that a rescue operation was launched promotly in a bid to rescue the newborn safely as soon as the incident came to light. The rescue operation involved fire services personnel and excavator machines which quickly reached the spot.

Moreover, special optical fibre and camera were deployed to the spot by plane for use in the rescue work.

People associated with the rescue work informed that while the operation was being carried out, the infant's cries could be heard coming from inside the boewell.
