Parliament Monsoon Session: Which Bills Are Likely To Be Moved Today?

Several Bills would also be considered to be passed during the session in both Houses.

Ahead of the 11th day of the Monsoon session, party leaders of INDIA are set to meet in the office of the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha at 10 am on Thursday to chalk out the strategy for today's session. Several Bills would also be considered to be passed during the session in both Houses. The session will begin at 11am. 

Legislative business to be taken up in Rajya Sabha today includes moving The Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2023 by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

The Advocates (Amendment) Bill, 2023 bill by Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and The Press and Registration of Periodicals Bill, 2023 by Union Minister Anurag Thakur will also be moved in the Rajya Sbaha for consideration and passing.

Further, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will move the Inter-Services Organisations (Command, Control and Discipline) Bill, 2023 in Lok Sabha today. 

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will move the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2023, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will move the Pharmacy (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and  Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will move the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023 in the LS.

Meanwhile, the Bill to replace the ordinance for control of services in Delhi is also likely to spark a row today as the same could not be considered on Wednesday owing to adjournments of both Houses due to disruptions. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to move the Bill today in the Parliament.

Opposition leaders including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Sushil Kumar Rinku, Asaduddin Owaisi, Saugata Roy, and NK Premachandran are likely to move a resolution against the ordinance when the Bill is taken up in Lok Sabha.
