Sexual Abuse Case: Prajwal Revanna Says Will Appear Before Police On May 31

The 33-year-old Hassan MP has been accused of sexually abusing several women over the past few years. Along with sexual abuse charges, Revanna, the grandson JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is also facing rape allegations.

Karnataka Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna, who left the country after his sex tapes surfaced and subsequent sexual harassment cases were filed against him, has announced that he will appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31.

"I will personally on Friday, May 31 at 10 am will come before the SIT and will cooperate with the investigation and will respond to it (charges). I have faith in court and I am confident I will come out of false cases through court," Pajwal said in a video statement aired on Kannada TV channel Asianet Suvarna News.

The 33-year-old Hassan MP has been accused of sexually abusing several women over the past few years. Along with sexual abuse charges, Revanna, the grandson JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is also facing rape allegations.

The Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations. A Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant on May 18 against Prajwal Revanna, following an application moved by the SIT.

The Congress-led Karnataka government has urged the Centre to cancel his diplomatic passport.

Prajwal Revanna's last known location was Germany. The suspended MP is said to have flown out to Germany from Berlin on April 27 with the help of his diplomatic passport.

He was contesting the elections as the candidate for the Hassan Lok Sabha seat from the BJP-JD(S) alliance.

After Germany, reports speculated that the JD(S) MP was in Dubai or Hungary. However, no official confirmation has been made.
