Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday went all out attacking opposition parties, who he "thanked" for their "resolve" to be seated where they are for long, allowing him to be in power. From trolling the Opposition for its speeches to the "non-aligned" INDIA bloc, PM Modi on Monday left no stone unturned in hitting out at the rival parties.

PM Modi, replying to the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in Lok Sabha, said that speeches of opposition members strengthened the view that they have decided to remain in opposition for a long time.

Opposition's Here To Stay, Says PM Modi

PM Modi told the rival parties that just like they were seated in power for decades, they have made sure they remain seated as Opposition for decades to come. To this, Opposition said, "this is called arrogance."

"Aap kayi dashak take jaise yaha [in power] baithe the, waise hi kayi dashak take waha [opposition] baithne ka aapka sankalp... [like you were in power for decades, you have taken the resolve of sitting in Opposition for decades]," PM Modi said

He added: "Ab janta janardhan toh ishwar ka roop hoti hai aur aap log jiss prakaar see inn dino mehnat kar rahe hain main pakka manta hu ishwar-roopi janta janardhan aapko zaroor ashirwad degi... aap jiss unchayi pe hain uss se bhi adhik unchayi pe zaroor pohchenge aur agle chunaav me darshak disha me dikhenge [the public is the form of god and the way you are working hard, I firmly believe this god-like public will bless you [Opposition] and you will reach greater heights]," PM Modi said sarcastically.

PM Modi also said that the Congress was trapped in 'cancel culture' and that it seeks to cancel every achievement and success of country. The debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address began on Friday and will conclude on Monday.

'Modi's 3rd Term Not Far'

Hitting out at the Congress, PM Modi on Monday also said that the country needs a good, healthy opposition but Grand Old party failed in its role, and did not allow other voices to emerge in Opposition.

"Congress' mindset is that it has never trusted the capability of the country. It considered itself rulers and the public as someone lesser, someone smaller...," PM Modi said. He read out a statement of the former PM Jawaharlal Nehru and said, "...It means that Nehru ji thought that Indians are lazy and less intelligent."

He also read out a statement of former PM Indira Gandhi. "...Looking at the people in Congress today, it seems that Indira ji could not assess the people of the country correctly but assessed Congress absolutely correctly...," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also listed things which he said were pending for ages but were finally taken up and completed by his government. He mentioned Ram Mandir, Article 370, 'Nari Shakti', colonial-era penal laws among things ticked off by the his government, adding that his third term is not far.

PM Modi added that his third term will be of "big decisions," saying that it will build a strong foundation for the next 1,000 years.

"Modi ne unko pucha jinko koi puchta nahi tha [Modi went to those who were never seen], the Prime Minister said in Lok Sabha on Monday, adding that his government even connected with the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). He said the last villages were made first in his tenure.

In his Lok Sabha speech, PM Modi also targeted the opposition bloc INDIA and mocked the alliance's "alignment" amid troubles and seat-sharing roadblocks.

"First, they collected ‘Bhanumati ka kunaba', then they went ekla chalo re [first they formed the Opposition bloc, then they decided to ride solo], they became motor mechanic, and now I see the alignment of the alliance has broken down," PM Modi said.

'Glorifying Criminals': PM Tears Into Opposition

PM Modi attacked the Opposition for "glorifying people who have committed crimes, asking them what they example they are setting for the youth by declaring such people great.

"Where constitution rules, where democracy exists, such things cannot go on for long... keep it written, by glorifying such people, they [Opposition] is signing their death letter," a furious PM Modi said.

Respected speaker, probing is the work of agencies, agencies are independent and the Constitution has kept them so, the job of judiciary is to judge, and I would like to repeat, torture me as much as you can, my fight against corruption will continue. Those who looted the country will have to return them," PM Modi said.

PM On 'Sengol'

PM Modi also spoke about the 'Sengol' placed in the new Parliament complex, saying that the President's arrival for address in a procession led by the Sengol reflected the sacred moment of India's Independence.

Considered sacred and a symbol of fair and equitable governance, 'Sengol' was placed inside the new Parliament building when it was inaugurated last year. This is the same Sengol that was accepted by the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, at his residence on the eve of Independence Day on August 14, 1947, in the presence of several leaders.

On January 31, the first day of the Budget Session 2024, President Droupadi Murmu, flanked by guards carrying Sengol, arrived at Parliament House for her address to the joint session of both Houses. President Droupadi Murmu arrived in a buggy at the Parliament House.
