According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate has initiated searches at the residence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's second-ranking cabinet member, Rajender Singh Yadav. Mr. Yadav holds several portfolios in the state government, including Higher Education, Planning, State Motor Garage, Home, and Justice. The search operation commenced at 7 am.
Mr. Yadav, who represents the Kotputli town constituency in Jaipur, is the subject of these searches in connection with a money laundering case linked to the midday meal scheme. Sources indicate that both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Departments may be involved in the search, which pertains to companies associated with Mr. Yadav.
A team of ED officials from Delhi has reportedly arrived in Kotputli, and there are numerous vehicles stationed outside Rajender Singh Yadav's residence. Movement to and from the state minister's home and office has been restricted.
