In a recent address to a gathering of women in Telangana, Rahul Gandhi, former chief of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), announced several promising incentives that would be provided to women in the state if the Congress party is elected to power in the upcoming assembly polls on November 30.

Gandhi highlighted the party's commitment to addressing the concerns of the women in Telangana who have reportedly been affected by what he referred to as the "loot" by the state's Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He pledged to "give back" the allegedly embezzled funds to the people.

Under the proposed plan, if the Congress party secures victory, women in Telangana will receive a monthly social pension of Rs 2,500 deposited directly into their bank accounts. Additionally, they will enjoy significant savings, with LPG cylinders being offered at a reduced price of Rs 500 instead of the current cost of Rs 1,000. Furthermore, women will have the privilege of free travel on government buses, equivalent to an additional Rs 1,000 in savings. In total, these measures would translate into a benefit of Rs 4,000 every month for women in the state, according to media reports.

Gandhi emphasized that this vision represents a "Parajala sarkar" or a "people's government" that aims to directly address the needs and concerns of the people.

The Congress leader also took the opportunity to highlight alleged corruption within the state, claiming that an enormous sum of Rs 1 lakh crore had been embezzled. He pointed out the political landscape, highlighting that while the BRS, BJP, and MIM are contesting on one side, the primary contest is between the Congress and the KCR-led party. MIM and BJP have thrown their support behind BRS, making Gandhi's call for full support for the Congress all the more crucial. He encouraged the people to rally behind the Congress to remove what he referred to as the "Dorala sarkar" or "feudal regime" and establish the "Parajala sarkar," which represents a "people's regime."

Rahul Gandhi concluded his address by drawing attention to the Kaleshwaram Project, likening it to an "ATM" for KCR to accumulate wealth. He cautioned that this endeavor would require each family in Telangana to contribute Rs 31,500 per annum until 2040, underscoring the need for change and the promises the Congress party aims to deliver to the people of Telangana.
