Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia accused the Congress government in the state of indulging in appeasement politics and targeted it over the alleged increasing incidents of gang wars and rapes.
Speaking on behalf of the Leader of Opposition during a discussion on the budget in the state assembly, Poonia alleged that the secrecy of the state budget was breached.
Gulabchand Kataria, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, has been appointed as the Governor of Assam. He was present in the House but Poonia spoke on his behalf.
"First of all, the secrecy of the budget was breached and the dignity of the House was violated. The branding and marketing of the budget like this was never done before," he said.
The BJP leader said, "During the rule of this government, five budget speeches and more than 2,722 announcements were made, out of which only 49 per cent have been fulfilled. There are 1,029 budget announcements, out of which 350 have been completed and 800 are pending."
Targeting the Ashok Gehlot government over the alleged deteriorating law and order, he said, "Such a situation was never seen before. If this continues, there will be no peace, harmony and investment in the state."
"The biggest stigma on this Congress government is of appeasement, gangwars and rapes. The morale of police is hurt as mafia is flourishing under political patronage. How will law and order be restored?" he said.
