Rajasthan Election Results Election Winner List: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a significant victory in the recently concluded assembly elections in Rajasthan on Sunday, marking a departure from the state's long standing anti-incumbency trend.
Since the early 1990s, Rajasthan has consistently witnessed a pattern of alternating between the two major political parties, the Indian National Congress (INC) and the BJP. Despite several elections, the state has never favoured one party for consecutive terms, and this trend persisted in the latest assembly polls.
The BJP triumphed by securing 115 out of the 199 contested seats, while the Congress managed to secure 70 seats. In the previous 2018 Assembly Election, the INC had secured 100 seats, with the BJP winning 73.
Notably, the state witnessed a contest for 200 legislative assembly seats, but the counting of votes was conducted for only 199 seats due to the demise of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar in Sriganganagar's Karan.
The current governance in Rajasthan is under the Indian National Congress, with Ashok Gehlot serving as the Chief Minister. However, with the BJP's victory, a new government is set to take charge.
