Rajasthan: Government Employee Rapes Minor Girl In Karauli, Case Registered Under POCSO

The accused was an employee in the public health engineering department in Rajasthan and an executive engineer in the department has been accused of protecting him and tampering with the pieces of evidence pertaining to the rape case.

An employee of the public health engineering department has been accused of raping a minor girl in Rajasthan's Karauli district on Saturday. Relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with other sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.

Reportedly the accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar who has been suspended from his post as a senior assistant to an executive engineer in the department with immediate effect after the incident surfaced.

The incident occurred in the Todabhim town of Karauli district. And the Police reportedly said, "We are further looking into the case."

According to the reports, Kirodi Lal Meena, an executive engineer in PHED has been accused of protecting Sunil Kumar and tampering with the pieces of evidence regarding this case and allegedly misleading the investigation.

The reports said that the departmental order mentioned disciplinary action to be taken against Sunil Kumar in connection with this incident along with his suspension from the post.
