Rajasthan: Inebriated Man Beats 85-Year-Old Woman To Death, Claims To Be Incarnation Of Lord Shiva

A man in an inebriated state thrashed an 85-year-old woman to death in Rajasthan's Udaipur district while claiming himself to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The police have detained four people including the prime accused.

 An 85-year-old woman was beaten to death by an inebriated man who also called himself to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The incident occurred in Udaipur district of Rajasthan and a video was captured when the accused was beating the old lady. 

The video of the incident went viral on social media and it was found out that it happened in Tarpal village which falls under the Saira police station.

The accused is identified as Pratap Singh who is 70 years old was beating the old woman with an umbrella and also hit her with his legs near the Mahadev temple. The video showed that he claimed himself to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva while thrashing her.

Reportedly four people have been detained for interrogation by the police who were involved in this incident. The accused Pratap Singh along with Nathu Singh and two juveniles were present during the incident and filmed it. 

The elderly woman, in the video, is seen pleading for mercy. Meanwhile, another person standing near him kept telling the accused not to do so. Two minors who shot the video also tried to stop the accused but to no avail.

Udaipur SP Bhuwan Bhushan Yadav told PTI, “During questioning, the man told police that in his drunken state, he thought that he was an incarnation of Lord Shiva and beat the woman to death. He also claimed to bring her back to life." 

 “Four people, including the prime accused, have been detained,” he reportedly said.
