Rajasthan: Karni Sena Seeks Judicial Probe Into Assassination Of Chief; Announces State-Wide Bandh Today

On Tuesday, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead in the living room of his house by three unidentified assailants. Soon after the assassination, notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang member claimed the responsibility of the incident.

Seeking judicial probe into the matter of assassination of chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena and other communities in Rajasthan announced a state-wide 'bandh' on Wednesday.

About the assassination

According to police, Gogamedi was shot dead in the living room of his house on Monday by three unidentified assailants. It has been reported that the retaliatory firing also got one of them killed.

As per media reports, Ajit Singh, the guard present during the scuffle, sustained severe injuries in the gunfire and currently is in the ICU and is in critical condition.

Lawrence Bishnoi's gang claims responsibility

Soon after the incident, Rohit Godara, a gang member of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility of the murder.

Rohit Godara took to Facebook to inform that his gang took complete responsibility for the Karni Sena chief's murder.

"Brothers, today Sukhdev Gogamedi was murdered. We take full responsibility for this. We have got this murder done. I want to tell you that he (Gogamedi) used to help our enemies, thus strengthening them. As far as our enemies are concerned, they should keep their bier ready at the doorstep of their house. We will soon meet them too." Rohit Godara said in his post.
