  • On November 2, 2004, a call was made from the official residence of Admiral Arun Prakash to the mobile phone of Kulbhushan Parashar of Expert Systems. Parashar, a known naval equipment vendor since 1996, is a key suspect in the war room leak case, according to the investigating agencies. The call was made from a landline (011-23014309) to Parashar's mobile (9811203003) at 9.37 am.
  • At 8.43 pm on May 24, 2005, a call was put through from Shankaran's office to the private phone of Mrs Kumkum Prakash, wife of Admiral Prakash. The phone number 022-22880098 in Mumbai is registered under the name of R. Shankar and Interspiro Systems. This call was made after Indian air force intelligence had established that there were links between Wing Commander S.L. Surve, who served in the directorate of naval operations, and Parashar in May 2005.
  • Frequent calls were made to the office of technical manager (maritime systems) R.M. Kshetrapal and Kapil Tikoo, in charge of the navy's capital procurements. Both are rear admirals. The calls were made between October 2004 and May 2005 to phone numbers 23792903 and 23017684 as well as a fax number 23792225 in Delhi.
  • On July 21 at 9.12 pm, a day before the BoI was officially constituted, a call was made to 23382316, the residential phone of Captain Jason Thomas, in charge of vigilance and discipline. He was later to be part of the BoI, with the onus of overseeing its formalities. Captain Thomas is also the deputy to Commodore V.K. Bhansali, the principal director of personnel services, the man responsible for facilitating the BoI's proceedings.
  • Several phone calls were made to 23011546, the number of the directorate of special operations and diving, till August 2, 2005. Besides, a call was made everyday to 25692419, the residence number of a naval commander posted with the directorate. These calls continued much after the BoI was constituted and a month before it submitted its findings to the ministry of defence (MoD) in September.
