Silence Reigns In Kashmir As Supreme Court Upholds Article 370 Abrogation

The Kashmir Valley was enveloped in silence amid a tight security blanket on Monday as the Supreme Court upheld the Narendra Modi government's abrogation of the Article 370 of the Constitution of India. With the abrogation in August 2019, Jammu and Kashmir was stripped of its special status that defined the state's unique place in India for over seven decades. Separately, J&K was converted from a state into a union territory (UT) and Ladakh was also carved out as a separate UT.
