Tamil Nadu, which has been witnessing some interesting turn of events since the death of AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa’s death in December, 2016, may soon see yet another twist in the state politics.

Multiple reports from Tamil Nadu suggest that DMK working president M.K Stalin’s son Udayanidhi, who is well known as an actor, may soon launch his political career in the state where superstars Rajinikath and Kamal Haasan too are waiting in the wings.

Udayanidhi Stalin, 40, grandson of DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi revealed his political ambition in an interview to The Times of India on Sundaysaying he was always in politics and now he is turning active.

Later, The Indian Express found him chanting slogans in the crowd, making a brief speech from stage, and then telling journalists, “From now, you may expect to see me more often.”

Making it more evident, he told a news portal, “Many actors have now entered politics. Maybe it’s time for me to do likewise,” as quoted by The New Indian Express.

Udayanidhi had entered the film industry as a producer and distributor. He made his debut as an actor through ‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’ in 2012.

Udayanidhi was earlier appointed as the managing-editor DMK mouthpiece,Murasoli.

Reports suggested that talks of his political entry have already kicked up a controversy over DMK promoting dynasty politics.

Karunanidhi groomed his sons Stalin and Azhagiri and his daughter Kanimozhi in politics. Azhagiri was later sidelined but Kanimozhi is positioning her well after her acquittal in the 2G spectrum case.

Udayanidhi’s political entry will see the DMK first family’s dynasty politics extending to the third generation.
