Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin announced on Tuesday that cash incentives of Rs 4,000 each have been provided to approximately 3,449 conservancy workers.
These workers played a crucial role in clearing the waste aftermath of cyclone Michaung in Chennai.
The workers, who were mobilized from various districts across the state, were instrumental in managing and clearing the accumulated garbage in both the city and its suburbs after the cyclone wreaked havoc in four districts.
An official release highlighted that the Chief Minister personally handed over the sum as a token of appreciation for their dedicated efforts in waste clearance.
The workers' commitment and hard work did not go unnoticed, and the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude on the social media platform X, further underscoring the importance of their contribution to the community.
