Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday distributed Rs 6,000 cash assistance to families affected by rains and floods induced by cyclone Michaung.
In a compassionate initiative to provide relief to those affected by heavy inundation in Velachery and surrounding areas, Chief Minister Stalin personally distributed cash doles to women heads of families. Velachery, identified as one of the severely affected regions, witnessed the launch of the flood relief disbursal, signalling a broader effort to assist residents in Chennai and nearby areas encompassing Chengelpet, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur districts.
The comprehensive relief effort encompasses the systematic distribution of tokens, clearly indicating the date and time for cash distribution at designated ration shops. This organized approach began implementation a couple of days ago, streamlining the process to ensure efficient and equitable relief distribution.
Individuals who may not have received their tokens were encouraged to submit applications at their respective fair-price shops to avail themselves of the essential cash assistance. The government, through a press release, emphasized the accessibility of this process and underscored its commitment to reaching every eligible recipient in a timely and efficient manner.
