Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated Singapore-based Capita Land's tech park in state capital Chennai.
On the occasion of the inauguration, Stalin said that an industrial revolution is happening in the state for the past two years.
The project, formally called Capital and International Tech Park, at Pallavaram in Chennai would provide office space to around 50,000 professionals once it is complete. It is being build on around 5 million square feet.
In a tweet sharing a video from the inauguration, Stalin said, "Over the past 2 years, numerous Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have chosen Tamil Nadu as their base, signaling an ongoing industrial revolution. This is just a glimpse of the exciting prospects awaiting us at the #GlobalInvestorsMeet in Chennai, January 2024."
Stalin further said that his government is in the process of setting up nine more such facilities in the state, according to DT Next newspaper.
Staling also said that 30 Global Capability Centres have been established in the state since 2022 by the likes of UPS, Walmart, and Hitachi Energy, reported DT Next.
The paper further reported, "Asserting that the State government was in the process of developing world-class infra and sector-specific industrial parks to attract investments, the CM said that the government has also been framing and releasing industry-specific policies to attract investment in R and D and skill development."
