Calling Tamil Nadu a leading state in the country for giving life to hundreds of patients through organ donation, Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced that the funerals of the organ donors will be conducted with state honours from here forward.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced on Saturday that the funerals of the organ donors will be conducted with state honours henceforth to encourage the practice of organ donation.

Stalin posted on X about the announcement after he praised the state for leading the country by giving life to hundreds of patients through the process of organ donation. He wrote, "Tamil Nadu continues to be the leading state in the country in giving life to hundreds of patients through organ donation."

He further thanked the deceased donors and their families who allowed the procedure to happen, "This achievement has been made possible by the selfless sacrifices of families who come forward to donate their organs in the tragic situation of brain dead family members."

Speaking of the announcement, Stalin said, "In order to honor the sacrifice of those who donated their organs and saved many lives, the funerals of organ donors before death will now be conducted with state honor!"
