Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke to the gig workers and autorickshaw drivers based in Hyderabad on Tuesday ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections.
Gandhi lends an ear to the grievances and the daily income of the individuals.
He asked one of the gig workers if they have a welfare committee and insurance in case of any crisis. The gig worker shared his experience with the former Congress president.
Rahul Gandhi also attended a similar interactive session with the gig workers in Bengaluru before the assembly elections in Karnataka earlier this year. There Gandhi spoke about Cogress' promise to set up a Gig Workers' Welfare Board in Karnataka with a corpus fund of Rs 3,000 crore and minimum hourly wages for them. Read more
