In a tragic incident in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, a 17-year-old girl named Bharti lost her life right outside Radha Swami Hospital. The distressing episode unfolded as she was allegedly removed from the hospital premises after two days of treatment, sparking outrage and grief among her family and the community.
A video circulating online captures the heartbreaking scene of Bharti, lifeless, slumped over a motorcycle seat, with a woman accompanying her in inconsolable tears. The family contends that she received incorrect treatment at the private hospital, leading to a deterioration in her health, PTI reported.
The gravity of the situation prompted swift action from authorities. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, responsible for the state's health department, promptly ordered the suspension of the hospital's license and the sealing of its premises. The family accused the hospital staff of prematurely removing Bharti without arranging transportation for her, ultimately resulting in her tragic demise right outside the hospital.
District Chief Medical Officer R C Gupta revealed that Bharti, a Class 12 student, was initially admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after complaining of fever. Her condition worsened over the next two days. The family's allegations of improper treatment and the subsequent actions of the hospital staff have led to a wave of condemnation and demands for justice on social media.
In response to the incident, Minister Pathak asserted that strict action would be taken against those responsible. A preliminary investigation report has been submitted, and the hospital has been sealed. Other patients from the facility have been relocated to the community health center in Ghiror.
With memories of a recent incident at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi, where similar actions were taken after a patient's death due to alleged negligence, there is a growing concern about healthcare standards in the region. The minister assured the public that such incidents would not be tolerated, promising the strictest actions against the culprits.
