Twitter Locks Out Official Accounts Of News Organisations ANI, NDTV

From April 22, Elon Musk-owned social media giant Twitter began removing 'legacy' verified accounts. Several mainstream news organisations with decades of work behind them have lost their blue ticks

Twitter has reportedly locked out ANI (Asian News International) news for not meeting the minimum age criteria to operate the micro-blogging platform, ANI Editor Smita Prakash said on Twitter on Saturday. 

Sharing a screenshot of the mail received, Smita Prakash said, "In order to create a Twitter account, you must be at least 13 years old. Twitter has determined that you don't meet these age requirements, so your account has been locked and will be removed from Twitter.”

She further said that their gold tick was taken away, and was substituted with blue tick and now they have been locked out. 

Not just ANI, news channel NDTV's Twitter account to seems to have been locked. "Hi @elonmusk, Twitter has blocked @ndtv (India’s most-followed English news handle). The account has been run by journalists since 2009. Please help restore it. Many thanks, Team NDTV," it's Hindi Twitter account said.
