The political landscape in India is set to witness a momentous event as the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) prepares to host the third meeting of the opposition bloc INDIA in Mumbai from August 31 to September 1. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut made the exciting announcement, hinting at the significance of the gathering.
The two-day conclave will take place at the prestigious Grand Hyatt in the suburbs, commencing on the evening of August 31 and continuing with full fervor from 10 a.m. on September 1. The agenda of the meeting includes crucial deliberations among opposition leaders, including five chief ministers, who have been invited by Uddhav Thackeray for a dinner reception on August 31, setting the stage for productive discussions, as reported by PTI.
Following the meetings, a press conference will be held to address the media and unveil the outcomes of the high-profile gathering. The event aims to showcase the collective strength of the opposition parties and strategize for the future, in the same vein as the successful INDIA meetings in Patna and Bengaluru.
As the preparations gain momentum, the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) leaders will engage in dialogues with the state government to ensure smooth logistics and robust security arrangements for the visiting leaders, including prominent Congress figure Rahul Gandhi.
The Saturday meeting witnessed a robust turnout of political stalwarts, with notable figures such as NCP founder Sharad Pawar, his party's state unit chief Jayant Patil, and national working president Supriya Sule gracing the occasion. Alongside them were Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray and his colleagues Subhash Desai and Sanjay Raut. The Congress was represented by seasoned leaders and former chief ministers Prithviraj Chavan and Ashok Chavan, Congress Legislature Party chief Balasaheb Thorat, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, and Congress state unit chief Nana Patole.
