Amid a significant rise in gruesome killings perpetrated by partners in India, another incident got reported in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj where a man was held after he allegedly killed his lover and hid her body in a tank at his under-construction house.

The body was recovered on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Raj Kesar. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

According to the Station House Officer (SHO) Vishwajeet Singh, the accused, Arvind, stayed in the Mahewa locality in the Yamunapar Karchhana police station area, the same spot where the body was found.

Arvind killed Kesar nearly 14 days back and hid her body inside a tank at his house, police added later.

The incident came to light when, on May 30, Kesar's family reported her missing.

Arvind was later taken into custody for interrogation, based on the call details of the deceased's phone.
