The Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced it would develop seven women-specific industrial clusters to promote women entrepreneurs.
The first such cluster is being set up in Greater Noida in Gautambuddh Nagar. Around 500 acre land has been earmarked in Greater Noida to be allotted to women entrepreneurs to set up their units.
In a post on Twitter, the Government of UP said women entrepreneurs would get several rebates in these clusters.
"Under the guidance of UP CM Mr Yogi Adityanath, special clusters will be set up to promote women entrepreneurs in the state. They will also be given several rebates. Only women will be allotted plots in these clusters. The scheme has started with 500 acres in Greater Noida. The initiative will not just make women entrepreneurs independent but will also inspire other women," said Government of UP in a tweet in Hindi.
In Greater Noida, around 700 women entrepreneurs will be allotted land for their units, according to a report shared by the Government of UP.
Besides Greater Noida, such clusters would also be set up in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and the Bundelkhand region, according to the report.
