Wagh Bakri Executive Director Parag Desai Passes Away, Suffered Brain Harmorrhage While Trying To Escape Street Dogs

As per media reports, as the 49-year-old Executive Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group Parag Desai was trying to escape street dogs that attacked him, he fell outside his residence and suffered a brain haemorrhage on October 15.

Parag Desai, the 49-year-old Executive Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group has passed away as per multiple reports.  As per media reports,as Desai was trying to escape street dogs that attacked him, he fell outside his residence and suffered a brain haemorrhage on October 15.

It has been reported that Desai was rushed to the nearby Shelby Hospital for treatment after a security guard informed the family about the incident. Later, he was shifted to Zydus Hospital for surgery after a day of observation where he passed away on October 22 after being on a ventilator for seven days.

He is survived by wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha. 

According to Ahmedabad Mirror, his last rites were conducted at the Thaltej crematorium at 9 am today.

Who was Prag Desai?

With exprience of 30 years of entrepreneurship, Desai successfully spearheaded the company's sales, marketing and export departments. The Wagh Bakri Tea Group has a turnover in excess of ₹1,500 crore. 

Parag Desai was the son of Rasesh Desai, Managing Director of the Wagh Bakri Tea Group.

Desai was part of the on federation of Indian Industry (CII), among other bodies. 

The Wagh Bakri website describes Desai as “an expert tea taster and evaluator".

He pursued MBA from Long Island University USA.
