PM Modi at Shree Kalaram Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the well-known Kalaram temple in Nashik. He prayed, sang devotional songs, and played cymbals at the temple dedicated to Lord Ram on Friday.
PM Modi is in Maharashtra for the day for a roadshow in the city before going to the temple.
Modi performed the rituals of 'pujan' and 'aarti' for Lord Ganesh and Lord Ram at the temple, with Chief priest Mahant Sudhirdas Pujari conducting the ceremonies.
The prime minister walked around the temple and actively participated in devotional activities, including 'bhajan' and 'kirtan.' He played 'taal' (cymbals) alongside fellow devotees.
Temple trustee members honored him with a shawl, citation, memento, silver idol of Lord Ram, and photographs of the temple deities – Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman. The prime minister received 'panjiri' (prasad) at the temple.
Listening to the epic narrative of the Ramayana, specifically the 'Yudh Kanda' segment depicting Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya, the prime minister heard the Marathi version and listened to the Hindi version through AI translation.
This visit to the Ram temple happened just 10 days before the consecration of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
