Neighbor Stabs Girl In Sleep To Death For Rejecting His Advances In Karnataka’s Hubbali

23-year-old Vishwa alias Girish Sawant knocked on the door of Anjali Ambigera's house at Veerapur Oni area within the jurisdiction of the Bendigeri police station limits here at around 5.45 am, police said.

A man killed a woman in Karnataka’s Hubballi for rejecting his romantic advances on Wednesday. The woman in her 20’s was brutally murdered by the accused who happened to be her neighbor.

It is said the accused entered into the victim’s room when she was asleep, before stabbing her multiple times.

According to the reports, the police reached the crime spot after receiving a distress call. The incident has taken place in Veerapura Lane in Hubballi.

The victim has been identified as Anjali Ambigera while the accused, Vishwa alias Girish, is on the run after the incident came to light, reports mentioned.

The news agency ANI quoting Gopal Byakod, Incharge Commissioner said, " In the morning between 5-6 am, in Hubbali, a girl named Anjali was murdered in her home. The accused is known to her, he entered her house, spoke to her and stabbed her. The girl died on the spot. Motive is not known yet, the investigation is underway."

The report also said the police have formed a team to trace the accused and further investigation is underway.

Earlier, another shocking murder of 23-year-old Neha Hiremath by her former classmate Fayaz Khondunaik on a college campus was also reported from Hubballi.

The accused had stabbed victim multiple times on the campus. She was rushed to a hospital, but was declared dead.

Later, the accused had told his interrogators that he was in a relationship with Neha, but she had suddenly started avoiding him.
