Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a rally in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, criticized the "Muslim reservations" in Telangana, asserting that they insult the Constitution crafted by Dr B R Ambedkar. Accusing both the BRS and Congress of pushing for a new division in the country, Adityanath labeled the move as a "dirty game of appeasement politics" evident in Telangana, as reported by PTI.
According to Adityanath, the implementation of "Muslim reservations" is part of a conspiracy to deprive Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) of their rights, constituting a blatant disrespect to Ambedkar's Constitution. Urging the people to vote for the BJP in Telangana, he promised that if elected, the party would eliminate the "unconstitutional" religion-based reservations and extend benefits to OBCs, SCs, and STs.
Adityanath accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of betraying the youth, farmers, and women by failing to fulfill promises made during elections. He pointed out the lack of progress in providing water, funds, and jobs, which were pivotal aspects of the separate Telangana agitation.
Referring to the BRS as "Bhrashtachar Rishwatkhori Samithi," the UP chief minister declared that, under BJP rule, the party would officially celebrate 'Hyderabad Liberation Day' on September 17, 1948—the day when the state, formerly under Nizam rule, officially merged with the Indian Union. Adityanath emphasized that Telangana needs a "double engine" government, aligning with the progress he claims the country is experiencing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
