On her political debut: I am full of gratitude to be chosen for a prestigious constituency like this. I also live nearby. The chief minister has herself been elected from here in the past.
On whether her being a film star is an asset: I don’t know about all that, but I have the blessings of people, the film fraternity, my fans, role-models, idols, all those who support me…I am banking on them.
On women’s safety: This issue must be the priority; I have planned many things on women’s safety. If I win, we will definitely see changes.
On balancing politics with an active film career: Women balance various things effortlessly—housework, office, needs of children and husband. I don’t think it will be difficult as I know how to balance things. As I live alone, I do all household chores myself.
On the BJP’s ambitions in Bengal: Parties come and go…but only the party which honestly and truthfully works for people and stands by people in their hour of need can survive for long.…
