A Seven-year-old boy died after allegedly being beaten up by his teacher in a Ghaziabad school on Thursday, reported ANI.
According to parents, victim, Katib was mercilessly beaten by his teacher because his parents failed to pay his school fees.
However, the school administration denied all the allegations against them and said that the child was very ill and had fallen unconscious after which he was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The school owner however has assured strict action against the guilty.
According to reports, the police has registered a case againt the teachers and the respective school based on the complaints lodged by the child's parents, and has started their investigation.
In another similar incident, on December 29, 2017, teacher and principal of a private school in Ghaziabad were booked for allegedly beating up a Class VII student over non-payment of school fees. According to reports, the teacher and principal were booked under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC by the local police officials.
Though corporal punishment is banned in most schools, incidents of students being beaten and thrashed by their teachers are on the rise.
On August 28, 2016, a class six student was allegedly beaten to death by school officials in Imphal, Manipur, after his parents failed to pay the fees on time.
