Among the restaurants, the rustic ambience of Rajwadu and Vishala makes them popular. At Vishala, the seating arrangement consists of cots woven by ropes; open cottages with neat mattresses to sit on and eat for families. Lanterns add a soft glow to the place while camp fires cosy up winter nights. It also has a utensils museum with old vessels and kitchen equipment on display. Rajwadu in Jivraj offers a similar ambience and several Amdavadis swear by the place.
For western fare, there’s Tomatoes. It has the feel of old English movies of the ’30s and the ’40s, with nice western music and posters of old-time Hollywood stars scattered around.
