A monorail train caught fire at Mysore Colony station in Chembur, Mumbai on Thursday morning at 5:20 am.
According to a Mirror Mumbai report, the services have been shut down following the incident, and are likely to resume only in the afternoon. The officials also confirmed MM that no passengers were onboard during the incident.
"The fire was caused due to a short circuit and two bogies have been badly damaged," Mirror Mumbai reported. "The short circuit was reported in the breaking system.," it added.
"Three fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot and the fire is under control now," said BMC disaster control room confirmed to Mirror.
Currently, the city has one monorail line which runs along a nine-km route, covering seven stations, from Chembur to Wadala. The trains run from 5am to midnight daily.
